Ruto to blame for fuel prices hike?

Just days after president William Ruto was sworn in, epra has warned about an increase in fuel prices to a somewhere between 170 to 190 shillings. This has lead to Motorists to form long queues on petrol stations trying to get the precious rare commodity –fuel-.

A sectioned of Kenyans took to internet mocking the current administration by saying that Kenyans shouldn’t worry because the government will pray for the fuel prices to drop.

What has really caused fuel shortage?

• Ukranian war has partially contributed to scarce supply of fuel worldwide.

• Inflation that was caused by government huge expenditure that was incurred during corona period in order to cusion Kenyans

• The Kenyan treasury coffers are alleged to be currently empty and so there is lack of enough dollars in it reserve in order t purchase oil.

Eorld bank has warned Kenyan government from subsidizing products anymore.

Why price hike during president William ruto regime?

The previous administration was holding a government that was in a very fragile position economically. Whoever was going to inherit the government whether Raila or Ruto was going to fache the challenge. William ruto ddecided on his first day to subsidize fertilizer. could some of the money that was used to subsidies fuel been transfered to fertilizer subsidy account?
